fruitnut:
Che is hardy to -20F, drought tolerant, grows on poor soil, and sweet as a fig…!!. Only downside I see is male and female trees.
I wonder why it isn’t more popular
Watch out, this thread will get derailed with the great che debate! Some people really really hate them, but @Luisport and a few others have said good things. A couple threads to check for both sides:

Noticed those today on my California Dreaming CHE from England’s orchard.
I planted it early April 2020.
Those look like small che fruit to me.
I have not noticed it blooming… no flowers that I have noticed…
Wondering now if a CHE actually blooms then fruits or if they are more like a fig… the small fruit show up first (internal blossoms) ???
It has lots of these… hopefully a good sign for possible fruit this year ?

So u can grow Che fruit on horse Apple rs. I’ve never even heard of Che fruit. The knowledge of this community amazes me. It is like knowing someone with 500 years experience growing fruit in every part of North America. So does anyone grow Che trees? Are they difficult to graft? I believe I can find plenty of root stock.
