Any luck with your Romeo seeds?
Did you get your Crimson Passion seeds to grow? I started seeds from a number of cherries but have not seed fruit yet.
None. Cold stratified for four months, no germination. Maybe they need even longer cold stratification considering their origin? Iād appreciate any tips.
None of mine have germinated yet either but they were placed outside in pots in natural stratification so they may still germinate in May when it warms up.

Did you moist stratify them? Cherry seeds diminish if not damp stratified. I shelled them and kept them between wet paper towel. They came up right away. I had seeds from Montmorenacy and Stella Rae.

William how do you shell your seeds? Any specific technique or tools?
Yes, moist stratified with a bunch of plum seeds. Almost all the plums germninated, the cherry seeds look like they rotted. If I get any this year Iāll try a less moist mix.
To shell seeds I use either a wirecutter and carefully clip the shells or I use a table vise and tighten until the shell snaps, then remove the kernel.

not yet, some of my seedlings are 3 years or so old and 2-3 feet tall but no fruit yet, Im not sure if there were blossoms on them this year or not, I didnt pay attentionā¦ After talking to one of the guys involved in the breeding program with U of S, Im not hopeful for them. Im guessing they would be great for wildlife plantings however.

How is your Skylar Rae cherry growing now? I bought some Skylar Rae cherry and am really like it. I saved the seeds. is it worth it to try to grow from seeds?
