Rooted Fig Cutting: Grow in Pot or in Ground?

I get started in late February by callusing the cuttings in a tub with a heat mat that is on a timer set for 15 minutes on and 30 minutes off, which keeps it around 75f. That takes about a month for them to have a good callus flare and start showing roots, then the tops are wrapped in parafilm and they get potted into 3"x9" plant bands. It takes 6-8 weeks for them to fill those with roots usually @ 55f night/75f day, although in a cold cloudy spring it takes longer than that. Then you need about 2 weeks to acclimate them to full sun and harden them off. I try and start thinner cuttings ahead of thick cuttings because they take longer. You could speed that up or slow it down by increasing the temperature up to 80-85f and using smaller or larger containers.
