St. Edmund Pippin apple

I have it. I grafted it on Bud 9. Vigor seems to be average. General disease resistance is average or better. I had my first apple this year and I like the flavor. It’s also called St. Edmund’s Russet. I wish I had better information but I haven’t had the tree long. Here are some links.

First significant harvest from two trees of this variety, my earliest russet just starting to ripen up (not counting Chestnut Crab). These apples seem to glow on the tree and in the hand, very attractive uniform yellow russet color. Subacid flavor with some good sweetness, skin not too thick. Develops some pearlike texture as it softens. Really good out of hand eating and I’m sure awesome sharp cider variety. 13 brix will no doubt rise as these get riper. [20170915_081902]
