Can anyone confirm if this is a known sour cherry rootstock (or maybe unnamed cerasifera rootstock)?
I believe this plant originated as a runner from the rootstock of my neighbor’s ailing Montmorency tree, as these come up all over my lawn, and when I dig them up they are coming up from long horizontal runners, and the leaves seem to match what I see coming from the base of their tree:
I’m hoping to graft something onto it next year (or maybe even bud it this summer), but just wanted to ID it well enough to decide what might be compatible.
