Best nursery to buy grapevines?

This is an old thread but I wanted to in general recommend double A vineyards. I order 3 grapes, a fig, and several brambles from them. All came with REALLY long roots several feet long. The whole plants were wrapped in a wet newspaper pulp which was easy to remove and kept everything very moist. My one complaint is I had to dig a bigger hole to accommodate the roots [20250507_182841]

Is there a thread or wiki on “shipping 101” and lessons learned?

For example:

1. wash your strawberry roots to remove any dirt
2. wrap the strawberry roots in damp paper towel or newspaper.
3. place them in plastic bags to help maintain moisture
4. ensure any greens (stems and leaves) are outside the bag
5. tie a twist tie or rubber band around the bags
6. pack with bubble wrap or packing peanuts
7. select a fast and reliable shipping method
