Iām near where the California variety was discovered so I suspect itās that Cinnamon Spice. It has a very distinctive appearance as well. Seems to be the same one Starkās was distributing.

There are good morsels there but everything is AI generated garbage or garbage that wasnāt AI generated. If you or another member tell me i believe you otherwise i post the link and the truth will come out soon enough. That is why our community is strong. We post it then rip it apart. Put the facts back together afterwards. We compile all the info we can then grow them out and write up the corrections usually. Yellow cinnamon aka striped cinnamon is zone 3 hardy and that would love zone 5 and that is what we really care about for now.

I didnt even understand that it had anything to do with Yellow Cinnamon apple? Striped Cinnamon is the same as Yellow?
Iāve got a couple Red Cinnamon and would happily graft some Yellow when available.

@Robert What rootstock is your red cinnamon on? I have one on mm111 planted winter 22-23 and though a deer chewed it up 2023 it rebounded nicely and has a bunch of blossoms this year. Iām hoping to get at least one apple to try.
I also donāt want to jinx it, but it has been a very handsome tree though I donāt spray other than mild organic things (biofungicide, dormant/hort oil, surround, etc).

I grafted over a Lowes tree. Not sure what roostock they use, but I sure would like to know.

Red cinnamon is slow to wake up. My older graft on a wild crab is at green tip, but the one I grafted on m111 last year is still at silver tip or dormant. I hope it survived the -32
