Started building an outdoor shower. Plan is to eventually setup a basin of some sort and a pipe to divert the water to a banana pit.

Made pots out of buckets. Then planted a languishing Triple Crown thornless blackberry, and an
Yerba Mate.
Don’t know if I like Yerba Mate, but I need the caffiene. (I also have a Yaupon- planted last year in a pot.)

dispached a racoon and reset my havahaert trap
shot another crow out of my birch tree. got 3 the last 2 days. they apparently havent got the hint.
Moved most of my container plants to the side of the house so they wouldn’t get destroyed by 30 mph gusts and collected all the empty pots strewn across the yard.

I finally planted my Actinidia polygamas - one of each that OGW carries. I also managed to mow the grass finally, and up-potted a passionflower that had gotten lost in the raised weed garden. If I’d found it sooner, I would have found a spot to plant it in the ground.
Last week, I planted a black seedless grape, three seedless blackberries, a “ground” Aronia, and a trio of cinquefoil I picked up at a benefit sale.
Maybe by next year I’ll have everything finally out of poots and in the soil.

Here is how I made mine -
It has a funnel in, a funnel out for the large pieces, and another funnel out where you place your container, (where the chicken is).
I have wheelbarrow wheels on it so I con move it between compost heaps.
I shovel into the feeder funnel, the good stuff drops in a container, and the unwanteds fall out the end.
I had a motor on mine, but found it frustrating. I shovel a few shovels and give it a spin.
The trommel is standing with the inlet higher than the outlet, hence skew on purpose.

Guinea fowl is a good anti tick machine. They have brilliant eyesight and demolish them in no time.
If you have the space to keep them.
On the other hand, if you have spouses and get to butter them up, perhaps forget about the guinea fowl…

Discovered who stole my armenian cucumbers a few days ago when one of my dogs brought a cucumber into the house just now.

I really like the idea for funnels. You didn’t have much trouble with sifted material dispensing around/over the surrounding area, even with funnels?
I just laid out a bunch of buckets and spun the trommel on top of them.
My trommel is standing on top of the compost heap. I shovel the compost in, what fits through the holes end up in the 25L bucket. Even if I shovel a lot at a time, it feeds into the wire part quickly and fall through rapidly. There is probably a little spillage, but not really. The larger items simply roll out to the end and lands on a heap. What I end up with is fine compost that I mix with soil and plants seem to love it.
I have two compost heaps in the chicken coop. I’m using the compost of the one, the other compost heap is building. At some stage I’ll switch heaps, build the first up again and start using the second. The chickens wear the heap down, and fertilize it, and I have to work it back up once in a while.
One frustration is that nearby tree roots grow up into the compost.
