What about for persimmons? My understanding is flower buds develop on new growth coming out of buds towards the end of the twig. Do the buds that produce this sort of new growth look any different from the other buds? It does seem to me that the end 2-3 buds are substantially larger. I haven’t had any trees fruit yet, so I haven’t been able to correlate that with anything.
