Are they some kind of sugar snap pea? If so, you are right…mine don’t do well at all with hot weather- but they sure are tasty!

Here’s most of what I did yesterday. Moving tom’s and peppers from the hex planters to drinking cups. Another 2-3 weeks in the cups and then it’s time to harden them off for transplant to the garden. I got 39 plants transferred over.
Some of them went wilty on me before I potted them up, I think they got dried out a bit because we had the windows open in the house on a windy day. I watered them well and put them under the flo lights, and they seem to be OK now. There’s more to pot up, but they’re not big enough yet.

Sorry to hear that about the HF berry plants, hope they make it right for you. At least the Romance Series cherry plants you got from them were good specimens.
If they’re Earliglow, then they ought to be great. I had a chance to get some EG at Lowe’s last month but waited, and now they’re gone. I got some Honeoye strawbs from Tractor Supply, and hope they work out alright.
Like Drew says: the synth ferts will KEEL your rasps!

@thecityman I bought one last year that I thought was dead with the tops all broke off. I said it looked like someone hit it with the weed wacker. It looked all brown and dried up too but it turned green after a couple weeks. It grew nicely. I was shocked but happy!
@Bart I just made up a batch. I picked all the ones out back took the best ones and made chicken with ham swiss cheese, a bunch of morels, and some asparagus from the garden.
I have never tried making this before. I also put cream of mushroom on the bottom. I hope I didn’t over whelm the morels. If I did I have a bunch more out front, and I haven’t even walked into the woods yet.
Tasted awesome! The morels in the middle where the best. They popped with flavor. Turned out really tender.

Thanks. I’ll go ahead and plant it out, but if ever I’ve seen a dead plant this has got to be it! Not a trace of moisture anywhere I can tell, and scratch test shows no green except a sort of faded greenish color right above the roots that I’m pretty sure just hasn’t changed colors completely yet. But with your experience, I’ll go ahead and drop it in the ground- which I wasn’t going to do. I think its a 1 to 10000 chance, but its free to try! Thanks
@subdood_ky_z6b Those are nice looking plants. I’ve actually planted out tomato plants that small and had them do great…and the sooner you get them in the ground the sooner they will get over transplant shock and start to take off. But by the looks of those plants, you clearly know what you are doing…nice job. What kinds of 'maters are they?
Oh my, those plates look awesome… My wife would have a fit seeing that many morels. She’s lived here most of her life, and finding them was always a treat. No luck this year, tho.

Well, good luck with them, they might snap out of it, like @Johnnysapples says. My rasps looked pretty sorry too, but have some roots on them, so we’ll see. According to folks on here, they’re pretty tough plants.
I have lots of different varieties, too many to list here, but check out “what tomatoes are you growing this year” thread to see which ones we’re trying. Some are totally new, others varieties that’ve done well for us. Plus, I’m trying some new peppers that @thepodpiper sent me as well.
I’ve considered going from the seed planter to straight to the garden, but don’t know if they’d make it. Plus, the soil’s still a bit cool for them. I imagine these will go into the ground in maybe three weeks. They look kinda puny now, but they grow into monsters. I space them at 4ft, and they take up all that space!

I think they are dead too, If they were raspberries, well I would try. I had one like that and it never came back.

My tomatoes are ready to go out now, but this week is all frost warnings
Some pics of our new assistant, don’t have a name for him yet. We’re pretty sure it’s a boy anyways. My wife wanted one, so she picked it up last Friday. He’s a feisty little thing. Our old dog tolerates him for now. Hope he’ll turn into a good mouser for us, he’s already practicing his stalking and pouncing moves. Hence, I’d like to call him Pouncey, but we’re not decided yet.

One of our female cats had its first litter a few weeks ago. It really puts their hunting instinct in overdrive, last night when I pulled into the yard she had just caught a baby rabbit and tonight she was out next to the road and chased a vole out of the ditch and caught it as I drove by, that’s two for the cat and I bet there are a bunch I haven’t seen

Finally stopped raining, mist cleared, fog ended tonight. Maybe the flowers on my plums will dry out so they pollinate!

Well, I hope it’s not a girl, but maybe that’d be better than having a tomcat running off looking for the ladies. We did a check of its “plumbing” in the back, and think it is a boy, but it’s still so small and young to notice any obvious signs either way.
Mrs Dood got it from some folks down the road whose momma cat had some kittens. Most folks think that it’s a boy, but it’s still too early to tell. We’ll know for sure in a few months.
Either way, we’ll prob need to get it fixed regardless. Don’t want it to be fathering or mothering any more kitties.
It can move pretty fast for as small as it is. It has come on walks with me around the orchard on its own. I’m trying to introduce it to its new territory by having it walk with me in various areas. Its services would be most appreciated around the cars and shed, where I know we’ve had rodent incursions.
Yah, it has a wide white stripe running down its belly. It almost looks like a little skunk. Because of that, another name I was considering was Pepe’ , as in LePew.
It was funny watching it run up the yard toward the house, it was black blur, with those white feet hopping thru the tall grass.

Took off work early today and was very productive in my garden. Today I planted the following:
10 tomatoes, 150 foot row of KY half runner green beans, 150 foot row of Incredible sweet corn, 150 foot row of Honey Select sweet corn.
50 Jubilee Watermelons (25 hills, 2 per hill)
50 Charleston Gray Watermelons (25 hills, 2 per)
50 Crimson Sweet Watermelons (25 hills, 2 per)
I had disked my garden a few weeks ago, then tilled it about a week ago, but after all the rain I had to till the whole thing again today before planting. It was my first plantings of the year…can’t wait to get the other 80% planted out! I love gardening.
