What kind of garden cart do you have?

I have one that is similar to the gorilla carts pictured here. However, I was finding that it tipped over with a slight slope or turn whenever I had anything heavy in it. I sawed the back wheels apart and bolted them back on.

I really dislike sawing metal like that but it made the cart so so much more functional for me.

Could you please explain this for me in more depth, maybe including some pictures? I’ve always felt that these carts having such a narrow track relative to their height that it would cause instability, and it sounds like you have found a novel solution.

Here is one of my two garden carts. It would tip with anything heavy when I went around a corner or on a slight incline. I mostly tow it with my riding mower.

The back wheels were originally one piece. I sawed them apart and drilled four new holes that went through the cart base and two new holes that went through the wheels. The wheels already had two holes (you can see where they were bolted on originally).

It is still narrower than my mower with the deck on, but no longer tips.

That is clever! Thank you very much for the pictures to help me understand how you improved upon the product!

I like this cart. Don’t know the brand but probably from Tractor Supply.
