Who is your fruit or vegetable nemesis?

I’m sorry, it’s really a horribly aggressive invasive. It might be one that you have to ground spray with poison. I think some people get confused and plant them when what they should be planting are lonicera sempervirens.

I’ve used it on bindweed.

gloves of doom. get a cup of your 24d mix

put on surgical gloves. then put on a cotton glove on top of those. get the finger tips wet with your mixture and scrub it into the leaves on those plants

wait a day, do it again. and again. it takes a few days for them to die. the gloves are so you aren’t getting it on anything else

I’ve got bindweed coming up again but! BARELY ANY. last year at this time the entire greenhouse was a war zone with it, this year? a few little patches in corners I missed with the gloves of doom

Those look great but isn’t Honeysuckle pretty invasive also? I think my neighbor has some of those on a trellis for late afternoon shade to his home and for pollinators.

@resonanteye Thanks for the tips! I might try to get some from someone but for now it seems to be outlawed here in Ca. Unless your growing large crops of food… saw a thing on the news they’re allowing it for tomato farmers. They outlawed it because of pollinators. Bees are dying from everyone spraying everything and 99% not even reading the labels. This Trumpet vine is all underground to I don’t have to worry about the bees on this one. I hunt suckers heavily because my dogs. It’s supposed to be a highly toxic vine to pups.

Lonicera sempervirens is native, not aggressive though can grow tall quickly. If buying, I would always go by the Latin name for this one because I think “trumpet” and “honeysuckle” are sometimes used incorrectly.

Edited as I was rushing and forgot to add that there are some vines called “honeysuckle” that are non native and invasive, so again, Latin names are key here.

Deer, though I’ll try the barbershop trick this year to see if it helps.

Dogs. They poop huge piles everywhere and run through the young seedlings

Thanks Eme good to know!

New bear has taken #1 most on my most hated list. Why do this to my new citrus order or eat lime?
