While there is sometimes confusion about which is which, the snake gourd as I know it is very different. The vine is much more delicate than the more beefy vines of the bottle gourds. The flowers are a lot more “frilly” and kind of wild looking. Here is Annie’s picture from 2024
There are definitely male and female flowers on the snake gourds I’ve grown.
edit to add: you posted just as I was and that definitely looks like some type of bottle gourd. I do find some of the Bangledeshi gardeners at my community garden call other longer gourds snake gourds as well.
