Speaking of paprika, I have been growing Leutshchauer (loit Shower) in a 5 gallon bucket the past two years, indoors at a south facing window. It makes a few peppers all the time & I love 'em. Definitely paprika with a light heat - 500 Scoville? Easy to dry & break small or crush.

Any thoughts on Jimmy nardello vs carmen peppers? Carmen has been my go to the last couple years, never tried Jimmy but they sound similar.
Tried king arthur last year and it was pretty good, meaty and strong flavored but less productive than carmen

jimmies are a favorite here i grow those and marconi every year almost. the Jimmy are a good kind of heat lot of flavor in them not just the pepper but a depth i guess. i like those in anything fried

About 3 years ago, I grew 25 or 30 varieties of peppers.
Elephant Ear, Ajvarski, Lesya, and Kapiya were top sweet non-bell peppers with thick walls. Stocky Red Roaster was good, and very productive.
Doe Hill was probably the best bell pepper. Small, yellow fruits very productive.
I like Cayennes & Jalapenos, but don’t have a specific strain that I prefer.
Habanada and Roulette were very nice ‘no-heat’ habaneros, but I probably give Habanada the nod for best flavor, while Roulette was far more productive.
Of the ‘no-heat’ jalapenos, Nadapeno was far more productive than Fooled You.
I’ve grown Jimmy Nardello on several occasions and it has been singularly unproductive for me here. Aji Dulce and Trinidad Perfume both had a chemical/solvent flavor that I did not find appealing, though both were very productive.

Of those with thick walls, which is most productive for you? I have yet to find a very productive, thick walled, red bell for my climate. Carmen far outproduces any other of the many peppers I’ve tried over the years, but although it is very sweet when red-ripe, it does not quite match the overall quality in flavor and texture of the red-ripe bells my wife purchases at a premium price from high-end grocery stores.
Carmen is insanely productive for me and I still have a couple of gallon bags full of diced Carmens in my freezer after using them all winter long. Japanese plums are just starting to bud out and my Carmen plants are already 4-5” tall and thriving by my bedrooms south facing window- I started them in mid-Feb. Here in NY, starting them very early will more than double your crop.

@alan, Ajvarski was probably the most productive. Elephant ear was most impressive due to its massive size.
