I would like to learn from other Z4 growers! We are living on small property in Adirondack foothills. I am a low energy, low input grower, specializing in Native plants! Very short and Buggy season with sandy soil. Hardy Hazelnuts are happy, and we’re doing OK with blackraspberries. Blueberries a bit sad. Trying Saskatoons but they are growing very slowly. Dwarf hackberry are just bushes and not yet mature. They get winter die-back. Young crabapples had Every (1st year) branch tear off over winter. Aronias nice but overly-flexible limbs? Shagbark and shellbark hickories from nuts are very slowly growing. I have to cage against deer.
