We’re on a 1/8 acre lot in Poughkeepsie, NY (6a), in a section of the city built in the early 1900s. We purchased the house in 2019 and have been slowly converting the lawn. We’re growing a combination of native plants and food plants. We put in lots of berries (strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries, and currants), rhubarb, and asparagus in 2020 and have been adding fruit trees this year (Potomac, Harrow Sweet, and Seckel pears, Loring and Glohaven peaches, Northstar and Surecrop pie cherries, Rosseyanka Persimmon, Susquehanna and Shenandoah paw-paws). I’ve been lurking around the site for years and finally decided to make an account. I’m hoping to outsmart the chipmunks and deer this year!
