Fruit and vegetable nerd here on California’s fog-clad north coast. Perennial experiments include peaches, pears, apples, figs, walnut, and berries galore. Not enough time to keep up with, but always looking for another variety of this or that, and some even produce some delicious goodies from time to time. Long time beekeeper, with a number of hives to make darned sure the pears get pollinated!

Pears: beurre precoce morettini, belle lucrative, white doyenne, Bosc, Comice, Seckel, Warren, ubileen, narrow sweet, harrow delight, rescue, urbanista, buerre superfin, harvest queen.
Apples: jonagold, Gravenstein, ashmead’s kernel, esopus spitzenburg, rubinette, Canadian strawberry, karmijn d sonneville, melrose, sweet 16.

Peaches: Nanaimo, Q1-8, Oregon Curl free, black boy

Hazel nuts: red dragon, old man walking stock, dorris, York, yamhill, eta, Jefferson

Figs: desert king, Olympian, violette du bordeaux
