In summer of 2020 I decided to create a small orchard for myself around my house in Seattle. I already had a mature fig tree and a plum tree, I added more plums and figs, and cherries, apples, pears, grapes, raspberries, and blueberries. Running out of room so I’m toning it down now … even with container gardening. I also like to root cuttings, mostly hydrangeas, and I am nursing a small army of pink dogwood saplings. I don’t know what forces I have unleashed in my life. I alternate between fear and sheer delight.
