Backyard gardener living in Hutto just north of Austin in hardiness zone 8a. Spent 11 years in the Army with a couple of combat tours. Got into gardening as a way of self therapy and ended up loving it. Been living in Texas since 2000, but originally from Idaho, so growing seasons and temperatures are very different. I’ve been learning about growing fruit trees and have gone from “I’ll just plant a tree in the back and see what it does,” to “OMG there is so much I can do with fruit trees!”

I am currently wanting to learn more about grafting and intend to try it this spring. Hope I can find a lot of help and advice here!
