Nutbush-VA
I’m a guy who has big dreams, a little budget, and a toddler whose two favorite pastimes are riding the tractor and eating whatever fruit is in season in the yard.
I live in Nutbush, VA, zone 7.
I am currently planting trial plantings of various varieties of blackberries as well as rabbiteye and southern highbush blueberries with hopes to establish a commercial upick farm one day. I’m also trying out different varieties of figs, grapes, currants, and gooseberries. Planning to add bush cherries and pomegranate, and maybe some more fruit trees next year. I’m interested in trying out new fruits, unusual fruits, and pushing zones. I currently have a small, unheated greenhouse but hope to have a big one in the next few years.
