I’ve been a horticulturist for 50 years. I was trained in growing ornamentals at the New York Botanical Garden, but edible gardening, especially fruit trees, has become my passion. I’ve been making hard cider for 30 years and two years ago planted a little orchard of 20 dwarf cider apples. I’m currently experimenting with pawpaws, plums, and a variety of fruiting shrubs. I want to begin growing hybrid persimmons.
