Fameuse Apple

Let me know if you need scionwood.

Really enjoyed the Fameuse apple @39thparallel i got to try one from a tree this year on mm111. As @alan @scottfsmith said it reminded me very much of macintosh.

Snow/Famouse has done basically nothing here. Tree planted in 2012 had maybe a dozen small fruits this year. They are nothing impressive here. Previously they were nothing but mush in the skin. I think it might be the heat. Planning on topworking the tree this year. Lots of water sprout kinda growth…practically no fruit.

Macoun is very good here. That’s a keeper!

Glad this topic was brought back up. I have a friend with a very old tree and she believes that it mught be a fameuse/snow apple. What do you all think?

it is remarkable the quality of fruit this tree is producing for its age and lack of care until i pruned it this spring. This tree has never been sprayed or pruned and if i was to guess it is probably in the 70 to 100 year old range. There is no graft line that i can see.
