We got a booty of Vegas Booty this year. The taste in the past wasn’t as good (maybe my fault for not letting them hang long enough), but this year they are fantastic. A bit of kick to them and large. Our tree was loaded. Our grandson was having a great time gorging on them. The growing season was awful for many things, but perfect for jujube. Almost no rain early in the year, and then some good rains after the fruit had set. These fruits went through some light freezes and were fine.
This tree has proven fairly cold hardy (especially compared to honey jar). We have not experienced much of any die back at the edge of zone z5/z6… and the tree is now large enough that we can pick fruit by walking out onto the 8’ tall deck.
A coon was eating fruit closest to the deck and pooping on the deck, but it no longer exists thanks to our Great Pyrenees.
