Whitman’s failure had very little to do with it being zone 10.
It was because Miami has high pH Calcium Carbonate saturated water & soil.
Most of the symbiotic microbes & materials where removed from the roots.
It is also a high Chloride environment & Asimina triloba from my research seem very Chloride sensitive.
I have a friend in Phoenix AZ & one in Tucson as having success.
Now that Arizona monsoons are getting close to starting, I will soon join them, even though we get 114 days above 100°F here.
We will succeed where Whitman failed, because the obstacles to success are finally being accurately identified.
