I have a 25 year old bonsai Adenium that is bearing a seed pod for the first time this year. I believe it’s because I moved other ones closer to it and it somehow got pollinated

That’s one heck of a seed pod. How many seeds do you suppose are in there?

There are probably at least 100 seeds in there. Adenium is in the Apocynaceae family with Asclepias (milkweeds), and their seed pods are very similar. The small seeds have the same silky parachute to catch the wind.

That’s neat! Thanks for sharing. Does your bonsai have a swollen base? I think they sometimes look like mini baobab trees.

Love it! Thanks for sharing these pictures of the whole tree with flowers. I hope mine looks something like that in 25 years! I’ve only had it 8 months…
