I did some air propagating of persimmons today. Below are some pictures of the process. It might be a little late in the season, but we’ll see what happens.
I’m very interested in seeing if this works out. I have tried a number of methods to clonally propagate persimmons without success. I considered this method, but couldn’t find any reliable record of it working and then Tony decided to give a variant of this a try. I figured I’d watch for his results. Now I can watch for yours as well.
I did three plants today – two kaki and one hybrid. It’d be nice to have backups on their own roots since I’m in a borderline zone for persimmons.
It looks like a complicated construction, with a plastic bag it was been easier or not?
