I got it off the historic apples of North Carolina site. However, it could all be from the same mistake or confusion.

I just looked for other descriptions and found:https://northstarorchard.com/fruit_we_grow/swiss-limbertwig/: “Moderately-tart with an excellent complex, spicy, fruity flavor. Has a firm, moderately breaking texture. This variety originated with the Swiss settlers in the Cumberland Mountains. Unknown date of origin. Ripens in mid-October.”

Anyways, I don’t think I will be sad if it has great flavor regardless of what it is.

My gut tells me the Swiss LT is worth a whole tree. I’m thinking perhaps the Red Royal is a winner as well.

I did try the Dula Beauty which is the offspring of a Red LT, and it was ok, but just ok.
