I planted this Boukhobza Blood Orange in the winter of 2019. After producing essentially only weeping branches for the first year, it finally started producing some significant upright branches this season (the entire upper half of the plant). I do want it to get taller (in part to act as a screen) but it’s looking rather awkward and gangly right now. Part of that is a result of a number of leaves being deformed by citrus leaf miner, but I’m wondering if I should shorten some or all of the tall branches it has put out, or just leave it alone, and trust that it will fill out in time. (One problem with shortening the branches is that doing so will remove many good leaves, and leave behind many leaf-miner-damaged leaves). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
