In principle I don’t have anything against it, but if there are a lot of such things they can get in the way. Our neighborhood has a listserv and most of the messages now are about things for sale or giving away, not about the neighborhood.
Maybe we would have one single post for things for sale and anyone could tack things on it (and, mute it if you never want to see it again – the mute option is at the bottom and muted threads will not appear in the recent posts list).

What about after an initial post, responses are requested to be done via PM only?
That mute option is very useful. Since growing fruit has gotten so popular I don’t have time to read all the the topics. I mute the topics that don’t interest me.

Sounds good. In thinking about it I would also want to restrict it to say level 2 users, people who have been around long enough to know how the forum works. It would also prevent people showing up just to advertise their product.

It would have to be a category if we restricted it to level 2. I just noticed you can mute a whole category so I guess it could also be a category with individual posts for each thing.

BTW, If you mute something, how can you go back to “un-mute” in case you now want to follow the topic?

The only way I know of is to follow a link from some other post or to find it in a search…
I will wait til after Saturday. It is a good sprayer. I just bought a gas powered one.
