Anybody know what this disease is on wild mulberries?

White patches on trunks and leaves that are yellow with brown areas are on the red mulberries. I do know web worms are present on one of the trees but don’t know what is happening here. Trees are in wooded area. No other trees affected.

It might be Ambrosia beetles but I’m not 100% sure. Pictures are a little blurry.

Doesn’t look like ambrosia…I’m familiar with that. It’s like a fluffy white patches…not woody. It’s bright white like meringue spattered on the trunk…

Couldn’t be lichens, could it?

Kinda looke like the wooly aphids I’ll get sometimes on my apples. I usually see them on stems and not so much on the bark. Anyway, I paint diluted Neem on the area and they go away.

Are you sure it’s mulberry?

The leaves look suspicious. Perhaps Red-bud, Linden, or Elm?

I don’t know. Maybe. I would have said no but I looked up some images and maybe. I need to go back out there and look for the pattern of where it is. If you roughly rubbed some dry spackle on the trunk it would look similar. :flushed::joy:
