From what my memory serves me correctly, this seed was from a cherry i ate a while ago but I not sure at this point. Anyone have an idea?

That does not look like a cherry to me. You’ll probably have to wait for more leaves for a good ID, but it’s giving me oak vibes. Is there an oak nearby? Could a squirrel have planted an acorn in the pot?

Seconded. While hard to tell for sure, it looks quite like an oak.

That small of a seedling would likely still have the “seed” attached to it below the dirt surface, you could gently move away a little dirt to see it and it would help identify the tree.
