Anyone try a remote greenhouse? Or will people rob it?

They got lots here for $10K - $15K. I wonder how a remote greenhouse would work out. Maybe 10 to 15 minutes away. So, it is not something I can monitor at all times.

I dont think plant theft is that big. i grow all my plants in the front yard and have never had any human theft. now squirrels…. Occasionally kids will grab some berries but thats it

The trouble with a remote GH is temperature control. If it isn’t automated, a few hours of over heating or freezing could ruin your crop.

I built one,a hoop house,8’x16’ at a job, about 10-15 minutes walking distance from my home.
Vegetables were first grown, but adventurous tree roots filled the ground. Then fruit trees were tried in pots.
Watering was a chore, even working there 5-6 days a week.A 55 gallon barrel with a timer was used for the vegetables.
The biggest challenges were from squirrels. The only thing a person did was poked something like a stick through the poly in a few places.
Oh yeah, then there were spider mites to deal with.

I’ve tried remote beekeeping and orcharding. I hated it. It’s a waste of gas, stressful. More inputs, less results.

It is better to manage with less space with eyes on the situations.
