I need help to solve a Zell transaction issue. Because this issue stems from buying fruit trees so I put it here. If it doesn’t belong, the leaders feel free to move to better fit category .
I have not yet received the Hartman order. The reason is that Tia has not received my Zelle transaction, but on my record, Zelle has sent out the money to her. So we’re stuck. Here’s the history:
On May 13, Tia sent me the invoice total. On 14th I Zelle her the total amount via the email she registered
with Zelle .
It should have been a straight forward transaction, but it didn’t. After I entered her email, Zelle asked me her full name, address, phone number. Luckily it is all on the invoice. I entered details info, added her as a recipient. I entered the total amount and transferred the money. The strange thing is that it said the money will be delivered by 21st, 5 days later. I didn’t pay too much attention at that time, thinking as long as it delivers, 5 days layer, more no big deal
The problem is that Tia said she still doesn’t receive the money today, May 25th.
I went to Zelle and checked the transaction again today. Zelle confirmed the money was sent out on the 14th, but it looks like sent out a papper check to her house, notto her bank account.
This is something new to me. always thought Zelle makes a digital transaction.
Does anyone know Zelle send paper check to its registered members too ? Or do I misunderstood something, somewhere ?
If Zelle indeed send out paper check,
how does Zelle determines on what situation it does elec transfer, or paper check?
I have been using Zelle for many years, and had never encountered such issue. I guess I am going to learning something new.
Appreciate any relevant information to solve this mystery.
I had Zelle info recently, buying a classic car out of state in March, owner only did Zelle, nothing else. Had to look up what it is, went to my bank, they said it’s illicit payments, 70% of the time and it is closing down nationwide.
I finally convinced him to take Western Union, like I wanted to begin with.
I have to Google what illicit payment means. I don’t think it is the case here, but thanks for offering different perspective and sharing your experiences.
I would cancel it entirely, I’ve tried zelle at conventions for mobile payment for clients and it just never works. cashapp or venmo have worked better.
get your bank into it, get it canceled if possible. how you used a card for it, those usually make it easier to get it back.
I have been using Zelle ever since it started and never had any issues. But most my transaction are between families and friends, both I pay them or they pay me. It’s very convenient for me so far. At this moment, I don’t think I will open account with any other apps.
It has been 11 days, the bank has already sent out a check to Tia.
i showed this to my wife whos head of card services at her credit union. she said to contact zelle 1st. # 1-844-428-8542 then take it to your financial institution if they wont help you.
Most likely Zelle is sending a paper check and that’s why it’s taking longer. Electronic bank payments are done through the ACH system and most likely Zelle doesn’t have an agreement with the nursery. Sites like Venmo have everyone register their ACH info so that’s why it’s faster.
It doesn’t look like that. First time for me to know (that is why I am asking, confirming here to make sure nota some kind scams ) Zelle sends out paper check.
I didn’t called my Chase bank who also uses Zelle as it’s fund transaction. Never had any problems of send/receive money from friends and family’s.
I was on the phone with the customer service and its technical team for close to 1 and half hours. Sorry, I documented everything in case I need to bring her to the court to get my ordered plants.
I have learned that Zelle did sent out paper check to Tia, delivered on May 21, but what did she do with that check is not within my scope of knowledge. I did canceled that check during the conversation with Chase customer service. While I was on the phone with Chase, I tried to send her electronic transaction the second time, hoping it could go through with bank’s help. but on my side, it still showed the paper check delivery option. The Zelle technical team was brought in trying to help me to do the electronic transaction without any success. They concluded the problem was that the email associated with Zelle that Tia provided to me is not activated. She can activate it by calling her bank/Zelle asking for activate her account. After the phone call with Chase customer service, I sent Tia an email to explain what I have learned, what was the issue per Chase/Zelle, and asked her to activate her Zelle account . However, she refused to do so , excused busy at work and insisted on sending her a money order. Now, how do I know she will receive the money order through the mail, and didn’t receive the paper check through the mail at first place?.
The weather is getting hot. It will add more stress to the plants during the shipping. And the growing season is a month past already. With the amount of the plants I ordered, I have to prepare ahead. I bought soil, pots, fertilizer, etc, if she doesn’t want to ship me the order, I would like to have her compensate for the materials I bought, and the cost of delaying one year of growing and harvesting.
What I received was a commercial invoice, not personal notification. So it’s a business.
