Apple tarte

I could not resist buying Granny Smiths today. I love the smell of apples baking in winter!

That is sublimely beautiful. Apricot glaze at the very end?

I’m curious about the crust. Care to share details?

Looks great as always. I’m going to try some smaller versions folded over. More like hot pockets.

Wonder what would happen if they banned butter in France? Would people scream off with their heads?

Mark! Hello! It is a puff paste that is rolled out almost paper thin. I should have taken pics after it was cut, but it didn’t last that long! It is the easiest thing to make. It is an Ina Garten recipe, learned in Provence. Full circle. You would like it. Dough, apples, butter, sugar. Thats it. 350 degrees for 40 minutet.

Thank you for this thread, I’m making some apple tart a la Ina Garten with my leftover phyllo dough, and i don’t have Granny Smith, so I made with whatever apple I have. Wish me luck, lol.

If you’re going to layer your Phyllo remember to brush melted butter inbetween layers. Its really made for puff paste. Good luck!!! You’re making an open-faced strudel!

My first time using phyllo dough, but they turned out well. My family likes them.
