Apricot leaf help

Hi,

Are apricot leaves supposed to have these little nodes on the stem of every leaf? Or is it a fungus of some sort? I hope someone tells me they’re normal, as it’s on every leaf.

I only ask because not all of my apricot varieties have this as much as some others, but most do. And I don’t see them on googled images of apricot leaves either.

Can someone please identify if this is a fungus and how to treat/prevent it? These are two year old trees. Thanks!

I’d say that’s normal. If it’s on every leaf in that pattern that’s not a pest issue.

It’s normal. They are called petiolar glands.

Yes.

As far as I know, apricots have varied leaf (petiolar) glands like peaches. There are globose glands (roundish glands) and reniform glands (sort of crescent glands like your picture) and (at least with peaches) some have no glands at all. This can be somewhat helpful in trying to determine a mislabeled variety.
