Thanks to Bob for the wood I grafted Oacar on Russian rootstock. Looks to have taken. I also grafted Kokuso, Wellington, and some others. i grafted over Silk Hope from the comments about it.It still has one branch that is Silk Hope, so will still have it.
Just wanted to give an update on my original post from almost three years ago. I ended up removing the quince tree this summer. The pitiful thing was riddled with canker.
So, in conclusion, I do not recommend quince for the eastern US.
