Ayers Pear-Is this Rust or Scab

I am not sure what this is. Can anyone let me know? Do you think it is rust or scab? Appreciate your help. Thanks.

It could be quince rust early on. If it grows fur you will know it is quince rust.

Did you have a frost when they were in bloom? If so it could be the result of that as well.

I do not think we had any frost while it was in bloom. Thanks for the information. According to various sources the Ayers pear has good disease resistance. I understand that it still could get various diseases. This is the second year it fruited. I only got a few last year. I did not notice this last year.
