Has anyone tried planting their trees (apples and pears, in my case) with roots wrapped in hardware cloth for pine vole protection? I’ve been thinking about trying out the technique shown at 4min 30 sec in this video but wanted to check with folks here first to see if anyone had first hand experience. I’m planning to plant 500+ trees and would like some foundational protection from underground rodents.
