I’ve been thinking of planting a Belle de Boskoop apple tree here. Hambone mentioned trouble with core rot with this variety. I’ve seen a couple of websites mention this as well. Many other websites/fruit tree nurseries don’t mention this as a problem. For those of you that have fruited Belle de Boskoop, have you experienced core rot with it? If so, in what percentage of fruits? I’m wondering if it’s a common problem with Belle de Boskoop, or only occurs in some conditions?
Dont know what is meant by core rot?
Unless thats another term for water core. As with just about all triploids Boskoop is fairly prone to water core.
This condition is only a negative when it comes to storage though.
