hey folks. ive seen some pics on here of perfectly whole hazelnut meats. im curious what you folks do to crack the nut without damaging the meats. i use the old fashioned one with the strait handle and it does a decent job but it still damages them and the arthritis in my hands begs you to give me a better less painful way to crack them. so how do you do it?

I recently got one of the Davebilt/“World’s Best” nutcrackers for a song at a church auction. Tested it out on store bought hazelnuts. It works great, quite fast (if a bit of a workout), and yielded mostly whole kernels.
Still not sure it’s worth paying the full asking price, but it definitely works as advertised.
