In your opinion which is the best online chill hour calculator?
I like Getchill.net as it shows the calculation for various models, however it does not show when there is missing data and simply ignores data drop outs
On the other hand I do like https://webapps.msucares.com/chill_hours as it shows dates with data drop out from the selected weather station, though it is somewhat buggy, and selecting specific weather stations requires entering the zip code then selecting specific weather station from the drop down menu. Also it is not clear which exact calculation method is being used and only shows below 45 and 32-45 chill hours.
It covers Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina, and lists <45 or 32-45. It lacks other information but the color coded map is nice.
So far this year, this area is running about 80% more chill than last year based on most of the models. It’s supposed to be between 49 and 41 again today and the 10-day forecast has only a few hours above 60 so we should be piling on even more chilling hours.
