Best shape for indoor citrus

I was curious to get some suggestions for shaping an indoor citrus tree. What’s better, tall and thin or short and fat/full?
Or, a better way to phrase my question is, is there a recommended method to maintaining an indoor citrus tree’s shape?

Currently, I have a potted Persian lime. Most of the tree tops off at 4’. One branch, however, extends up to 6’. I’m trying to decide on which way to go out of convenience and general tree health.

That tall sprout is a water sucker. Remove it at its origin. Otherwise allow Citrus to take their own shape. They will naturally form a ball or ovoid.
