Today i was very fortunate to eat both of these homegrown creations of Van Mons in the same orchard at the same time. Was at the @39thparallel orchard. First it’s important to mention that they are not very disease resistant. They taste is very similar for a reason hence the name beurre is to mean butter or butter pears. These are very high quality pears. There really was not an expert pears breeder until Van Mons came along. His work has never been matched he was an exceptional pear breeder.
