I peeled a bunch of Arlets this evening for crisps ect. and many had a multitude of corky areas just under the skin on the calyx end. Is this bitter pit? What should I have done to prevent this?
I had a bad bitter pit this year too!
More.boron and calcium and less nitrogen should help, but I sprayed the boron and the calcium and still had a problem on some varieties, especially Williams Pride.
Calcium is pretty safe but too much boron can be toxic to the trees
