Are the Blood Oranges any hardier than
a regular Orange?

Nope, less so since they aren’t as early(January-April) as other round oranges. Fruit freezes at 26F and the trees a few degrees less. Some round oranges are ready before Christmas. For those in zone 8b it makes a difference. So depends if you get freezes before the fruit is ready. Here near Houston 8b/9a some years the blood oranges freeze before they are ready.
