Blueberries in shade

I have more shade than I would like so my blueberries only get 3 to 4 hrs sun. Blueray and Draper have been ok but Bluegold and Darrow have not. Perhaps some southern blueberries would do ok. Any suggestions of southern blueberries that do ok in partial shade?

My trials in zone 6b and in zone 8a some years back…lack any ‘scientific’ comparisons like a university might ‘trial’. I think Sunshine Blue is a possibility. Sunshine Blue is a southern high bush.
For a northern highbush, Aurora has done ok in 3 or 4 hours sun.
I also probably say ok to Blueray.

I have a lot…maybe 15 varieties… in pots in partial shade, but am sure the crops are definitely limited due to me ‘abusing’ them.

Premier has done ok in 3 hours sun.
I suspect some of the northern ‘half-high’ hybrids do ok in mostly shade, and Patriot probably.

Rubel, Blue Ridge, Friendship and other cultivars selected from the forest produce berries in shade (but probably a lot more in sun).

Sorry not to be of more help.

That’s plenty of help, thanks. I’m going to try a few you mentioned. I know there is variability in wild blueberries. I’ve seen a very large one growing in a swampy area and have seen ones growing in shady sandy soil. I need to go to the spot where I saw them growing in shade and make sure I’m correct.

I still like Aurora in part shade. Best producer this year (a bad year in general) for me.
Premier rabbiteye did ok in a shady spot. (Speckled shade most of day…some sun.)

Blueray, as you mentioned to begin, seems ok less than full sun.

Most live, but fruiting is reduced, in bright shade. Aurora has survived getting no sun until after 5 p.m. and still cropped to some extent…and extending the lateness of the cultivar, nice for home use getting a handfull of very late berries.
