Bonus Blueberry

I see Indiana Berry shows a new blueberry for zones 3-7 called Bonus. It is supposed to have very large berries. Has anyone tried it? I have never heard of it before. Also, how about K-81-6 late, red, summer-bearing raspberry?

I only saw one report and it was rated fairly high. It’s an old cultivar
@alan grows it or did?
I saw a few links about it, like 4 or five from an old post and all the links are dead. Hate that about the web!

None of my plants have died, and most of what I know about blueberries is derived only from my own stand of plants- at least as far as cultivar performance. Yes, I like Bonus, and it was new 25 years ago when I planted it. It’s a small plant, so keep that in mind with your spacing of it. I like huge berries, blueberries take way to much time to harvest compared to tree fruit, but large size helps. I even like the taste more because the reduction in skin to pulp makes the large fruit more succulent. I haven’t experimented with any new varieties for 15 years, so I’m far from expert on what are the best varieties now.

The raspberry plant is is not that old, I never tried that one. I ran out of room to trial new ones. Bonus was one blueberry i wanted to try, but the list of great cultivars is long. I never got to it, and now the same problem, no room. I have 10 other cultivars.

Two years ago, I planted one in a relatively shaded location in an out of the way corner of the yard. So I don’t think it has made too many berries, but it did finally grow to be decent sized this year, so I’ll try to pay attention next year.
