Broadfork looks like a good tool to have

I used a spade fork to work on my garden and injured my plantar fascia. Took a year + to heal up. If I had one of these, I think I would not have injured my foot. A little pricey but looks like it is built like a tank.

I guess there are not any cheap options for pro quality broadforks.

Amazon has some cheaper options. But they are not comparable in build.

I have one… for many years now. Used to break my garden with it.

The wood handles do not last.. I had to replace mine several times.

I made my own hickory handles for it twice.

When the second pair broke… I had a guy weld steel tube handles in it. Don’t think I will have handle problems again.

I have one and really like it. I bought the Meadow creature one (if I remember the brand correctly). it has metal handles. I didn’t want deal with the broken wooden handles like @TNHunter said.

That is my old Johnny’s Seeds 727 broadfork… with metal handles added later.

7 tines, 27 inch wide.. the tines are 10.5 inch long.

There’s an alternative for anyone who wants to save some money and is either handy themselves or has someone who can help with the fabrication.

I have had really good results with it. Breaking new ground has been easy.

Ouch, plantar fascia is no joke. A broadfork would definitely be easier on the feet, the motion is completely different from a spade fork. More of a lean-back than a stomp-down.
