Here is a picture of the same vine in July 2020. This is the third year in the ground.

I noticed that base of one of my muscadine vines nearly snapped. See the pictures. I am not sure if this happened due to the weight of the vine. If something tried to climb on the vine or for some other reason. Do you think I should place some tape around it. I also think that I need to do something more to support the wire in several areas. Each wire on the trellis is about 15 feet and the vines are running the length of the wire. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
