It’s been a good year for pansies. Temperatures have been 60s, 70s and low 80s.
Went to a family reunion near Yellowstone over the weekend and there were so many amazing wildflowers blooming, I regret not taking more pictures. Here are a couple.
Hesperochiron pumilus
Viola nuttallii var. praemorsa
This site identifies it as Clarkia and mentions that it is a wildflower seen on hikes in Yosemite. What an unusual wildflower!
Thanks Regina! Indeed, it’s clarkia!. First time growing it, can’t recognize the plant, flower yet. I did sow the seeds, many other flower seeds including clarkia in the area. How nice it blooms now. I also read a piece of its history too from the link.
Great looking apples!
I transplanted 2 crowns of wild elderberry into my field back in January… looks like we will get some berries this year.
Awesome. I have 3 plants that I hope to bear next year!
Mine are the same!
Looks like my bare rooted SC jujubes planted early this year have some blooms, does that mean I may get some fruit this season?
No really, just a hope. Many Jujubes have hard time to set fruits. It may require another one to pollinate the flowers.
